Consecration of Religious Objects

According to Bönpo tradition, it is important to consecrate and purify objects meant for religious practice prior to their use by the practitioner.

Please join us with your Bön statues and other religious objects, as Chaphur Rinpoche performs the consecration ritual or Rab-Ne. During this ritual, a Zung-zhuk is placed within the statues empty space. This Zung-zhuk contains mantras, herbs and other substances associated with the deity represented by the statue. This purifies any negative energies and empowers the statue with the deity’s blessing.

Other religious images are empowered in different ways. For instance, a Thangka is empowered by writing the deity’s mantras on its back.

All statues and other religious objects that were commissioned during Gyalshen Institute’s pilgrimage last April will be available for pickup by the time of this ritual. The Gyalshen Store will also have additional statues, Thangkas and other Bönpo religious objects for sale by the time of this event. Rinpoche will be blessing any religious and practice related object you wish. Lunch will be provided by Gyalshen Institute. Save the date for this important event.

Admission free! Any donation you may wish to make in support of this event can be offered at the door.
