According to all of the Tibetan religious traditions, the time between one’s death and subsequent rebirth is a powerful opportunity either to attain enlightenment or to move toward a beneficial rebirth. During this Intermediate State or Bardo, when one’s mind has been separated from the root of one’s body, it is said that there may be a frightening array of experiences. Thus, it is vitally important for beings in the Intermediate State to recognize these experiences as mind if one is to use the unparalleled opportunity of the Bardo well.
As we collectively and individually wrestle with the realities of COVID-19, we are faced with impermanence and the mortality of ourselves and our loved ones.
Join us on Zoom, on Sunday April 26th as Chaphur Rinpoche leads us in The Precious Garland, the Prayer of the Intermediate State. These prayers are dedicated to those who have recently died and need guidance through the Intermediate State. They also give us instruction for our own eventual movement through the Bardo.
Please light seven candles when you participate. These symbolize the light that illuminates the six realms (hell, hungry ghost, animal, human, demi- god and god ) as well as the realm of the Bardo.
Looking forward to joining with you in sending blessings to those in need of guidance, love and compassion.
