 Tibetan Reading Class

In this session we will focus on reading and writing basic Tibetan language. As we did before in previous sessions on basic Tibetan language, we will focus more on reading so that when you learn to read perfectly,  then understanding will be easier. Reading is very necessary if you want to learn the Tibetan language. It will improve pronunciation, understanding of sentences, sentence structure and  grammar.

The Basic Tibetan class will provide you with an opportunity to learn Tibetan reading, learn vocabulary and structuring a simple sentence. This requires lots of practice. We are creating an opportunity for all who are interested in participating in learning this. In this Basic Tibetan Class class we will focus on improving reading starting with the basics. We will learn vocabulary and form simple sentences. Every class will provide you the opportunity to improve your level of reading, writing and understanding.

Tibetan Translation Class

In this session we are planning to teach the basics of translating Tibetan into English. It involves the meaning and defining of each word, word to word translation, sentence structure, understanding the Tibetan text, conceptual translation etc. We are focusing more on the basic level that deals with the meaning and defining of each word,  understanding sentence structure and translating into English. We will focus more on the Tibetan portion because once that concept is very clear, it gives you a chance to select more appropriate words when translating.

In this session we will continue the Elegant Saying on the Gradual Path by Kundun Sonam Yungdrung. In our last session we worked on two topics with the third topic in progress. Now in this session we will continue that. For that you need to read those texts again and again. When we deal with verse translation,  it is very important to be very clear about the concepts. Once we are well aware of the sources, it will be easier for us to translate it into the target language.

We will continue the text on the Elegant Saying on the Gradual Path because the writer has used a very simple and easy-to-understand language.  It also carries the deeper meaning and insight of Bön-teaching. Along with the translation we also gain a basic awareness of Bon-teaching.
