Medicine Buddha Teaching and Retreat

With Chaphur Rinpoche and Chaphur Tulku/Dr. Geshe Tsewang Rigzin

On Zoom

January 31st-February 1st, 2026

Time: 8am-11am (PT)

The Medicine Buddha is a peaceful and compassionate manifestation of Buddha Tönpa Shenrab, the founder of Yungdrung Bön . This teaching benefits all who are ill by liberating  them from suffering through blessings from the Medicine Buddha.

Buddha Tonpa Shenrab first gave the medicine teachings  to Chabu Trishe, who is one of Buddha Tonpa Shenrab’s eight sons and the source of all the healing traditions of  the Tibetan Bumzhi Sowa Rigpa lineage. Gradually, it was passed through masters in a continuous lineage down to Nyammed Sherab Gyaltsen. Since that time,  it has been  preserved in an unbroken passing from master to master until  the present day. In particular, the 33rd H.H. Menri Trizin Rinpoche was a recipient of these ancient Bon teachings. He both held and passed down the precious  teachings of the Bumzhi Sowa Rigpa tradition.

Chaphur Tulku/ Dr. Chaphur Tsewang after years of studying Sutra, Tantra, and Dzogchen, and earning a Geshe degree, began to study and practice Tibetan Bon medicine. After studying and practicing for over six years, he obtained a Bumzhi Sowa Rigpa degree,  the Tibetan  medicine degree unique to Bön.  Currently,  Dr. Tsewang is a professor  at the Menri Medical College. In addition, he has started introducing Tibetan Bon medicine to our sangha  practitioners  in the West.

For three days Chaphur Rinpoche and Dr. Tsewang will be leading the meditation and practice sessions of the Medicine Buddha. To join us for this amazing opportunity,  please register below:
