Shedrup Khenpo Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche
March 2nd-3rd 2019 10am-4:30pm
………Shedrup Khenpo Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche will be teaching on the powerful practice of DU TRI SU. Through this important Bon practice, we follow “The Lamp that Dispels Darkness and Purifies Obscurations.” In so doing, we purify negative emotions and overcome both temporal and spiritual obstacles. Temporal obstacles are caused either by deep-seated negative karma or by the abrupt arising of a calamity such as sudden illness. Spiritual obstacles are those that block our spiritual development.
……….In the Tibetan tradition, DU TRI SU is used widely to heal illnesses. The source of this practice and its main deity is Shenla Odkar. The main mantra of DU TRI SU is, AH-KAR A-ME DU-TRI-SU NAG-PO ZHI-ZHI MAL-MAL SO HA. It is one of the three essential mantras of Bon. The practice was transmitted in a direct oral transmission by Nyame Sherab Gyaltsen to Kudun Sonam Lodro, the 22nd Abbot of Menri Monastery. The immediate benefit of this practice in our lives is the arising of peace of mind and the pacifying of our negative emotion. The peace of mind that arises nurtures our concentration and improves the quality of our meditation.
……….Khenpo la also will be teaching understanding death and the next life from the Ancient Bon text. The DU TRI SU text clearly explains how a practitioner can go through the six realms or ten stages to achieve Enlightenment.
……….Please join us in receiving the amazing blessings of this teaching and in welcoming Khenpo Nyima Rinpoche on his first visit to the United States and to Gyalshen Institute.
